Area code 330 was one of the original area codes established in 1947. It originally served northeastern Ohio, including Cleveland. In 1996, however, the 330 area code was split, with the western portion (including Akron) getting its own area code, 234.The 330 area code is still in use today, and covers a large area of northeastern Ohio. It includes all of Summit County and much of Medina, Portage, and Stark counties.
